We are looking for a Youth Programme Producer to join our team on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

Where in Wellcome will I be working?

You will be working as a part of the Youth Programme Team: a team of four based in the Live Programmes Team which is, in turn, part of the wider Public Programmes department at Wellcome Collection.

Wellcome Collection\xe2\x80\x99s Youth Programme develops youth and school activity aimed primarily at a 14 \xe2\x80\x93 19-year-old audience, teachers, and youth workers, engaging them to explore health and the human experience.

What will I be doing?

The Youth Programme Producer will be responsible for the production and delivery of a programme of school and youth activities. Working closely with the Youth Programme team and other relevant teams across Wellcome, the Producer will manage youth and school events and activities for 14 \xe2\x80\x93 19 year old\xe2\x80\x99s from conception to completion - contributing to the research, planning, delivery and promotion of a balanced year-round programme.

As Youth Programme Producer you will be:

Planning and producing an exciting range of activities for youth and school audiences including: events, workshops, resources, study days and co-produced projects

Researching subject matter; speakers, performers and facilitators for youth and school activity ensuring that the content is innovative, accessible, relevant, curriculum linked, well balanced and accurate and that the events reflect the interdisciplinary values of Wellcome Collection

Managing relationships with partners , including schools, youth organisations, arts and educational venues or charities, to ensure collaboration and consultation is built into our programming.

Dedicated to working with anti-racist and anti-ableist themes with youth audiences and centering this in all aspects of your work.

Work in partnership with colleagues across Public Programmes

Is this job for me?

We are looking for a self-starter with strong team-working ability and great project management and event production skills. Ideally, you will have experience working with youth and school audiences in a museum or heritage environment, with a demonstrable interest in our collections.

We are looking for somebody who has:

Good knowledge of innovative work in engagement practice in the arts/museums/galleries sector, and / or the youth /education sector

Experience and good knowledge of working with a school audience, including SEND audiences \xe2\x80\x93 knowledge of curriculum development, and managing school relationships is key

Experience of and good knowledge of working with a youth audience \xe2\x80\x93 knowledge of current youth interests, needs and good practice in the cultural sector is key

Experience of working with a range of external partners and stakeholders including artists, producers, researchers and public figures

A proven interest in sciences, health, humanities and arts.
