To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a

Yard Operative

to come and join our team at our

Chailey

factory

in

Lewes BN8 4BA

The successful candidate will be switching between various production roles, providing cover for sickness, holidays, or increased demand, including sorting and setting, and some forklift truck work. This role will be physically demanding and will require hard work and determination.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Constructing brick firing 'clamps' (a very large and carefully selected stack of bricks) Manually creating the base layers of bricks, prior to being finished using specialist equipment Hand sorting fired bricks into packs Adhering to health & safety, quality and environmental systems Creating and maintaining the highest standards of 5S's housekeeping and environmental management

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Excellent timekeeping, attendance and flexibility Self-motivated Numerate & literate. Team working attitude. Ability to also work alone. Excellent communication skills. High degree of Health & Safety awareness. Ability to work as part of a team or on your own. Ability to learn to operate key manufacturing and mobile plant. Willingness to undergo further training and development. Previous labour intensive role Driving License

Desirable qualifications & experience:

Experience of working in a continuous improvement environment. A certified counterbalance FLT driver is advantageous. A recognised up-skill.
