The Role
Laker Vent Engineering is looking for a reliable and experienced Workshop Welder to join our team in Ellesmere Port. This is a full-time, practical role for someone with solid pipework fabrication experience and good attention to detail. It's a long-term position with an immediate start for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding and fabrication of pipework and metal structures in a busy workshop environment
Use TIG welding techniques on a range of materials to a high standard
Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding documentation, and procedures
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
Troubleshoot welding issues and make adjustments to improve quality and accuracy
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with company and industry health & safety standards
Support team members as required to meet production deadlines
Essential Requirements:
Previous experience working in a pipework fabrication shop
Proficiency in TIG welding
Strong knowledge of working with various metals
Ability to troubleshoot and address issues with welding techniques or equipment
Ability to read and interpret welding documentation and procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills:
Experience with additional welding processes such as MIG and Stick
Qualifications Required:
Level 3 trade apprenticeship, ACE card or equivalent
CCNSG Safety Passport, CSCS or equivalent
Special Requirements:
Offer of employment is subject to passing a weld test
Working Hours:
52 hours per week (Monday to Saturday)
