Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Works Manager to join our Infrastructure Water team in Cambridge.
We're working on a major new project to build a modern waste water treatment plant at Honey Hill, just north of the A14 between Horningsea and Fen Ditton. This new plant will replace the current one in the northeast of Cambridge.
Our Works Managers are trusted and visible leaders, who encourage, support and mentor on site to enhance team output.
The role of a Works Manager includes:
Early involvement in the design phase and providing feedback on construction techniques and buildability to ensure we achieve a "right first time" outcome Planning, coordinating, and executing site works safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, in line with project plans, design drawings, specifications, and schedules. Site inspections, reviewing method statements and risk assessments and delivering toolbox talks Ensuring plant equipment/ machinery are in good working order with in-date certificates Ordering and managing hired internal and external equipment daily to optimise performance and reduce costs
What you'll need:
NVQ Level 4 or above Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences. Understanding of engineering principles. Competence with digital tools. Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS minimum) Relevant CSCS Card Driving license A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
