London, Cardiff, Darlington (may require occasional travel to other DBT Offices)
The newly created Department for Business and Trade brings together the business focused functions of the former Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the Department for International Trade (DIT). Our joint expertise in trade and business provides us with a unique opportunity to unleash the power of UK businesses, reform regulation to reduce burdens and unlock post-Brexit freedoms.
Let us tell you a little bit about the role
As a Workforce Planning Manager, you will work within DDaT (Digital Data and Technology) Business Operations, which is a cross-cutting function that supports DDaT and DBT corporate services to enable teams to effectively deliver on crucial public facing projects. The Business Operations team is integral to project delivery and supports delivery teams in several ways including providing governance, assurance, finance, commercial, recruitment, capability, and project delivery best practice.
You will work with the Strategic Workforce Planning Lead who is responsible for strategic workforce planning across DDaT, ensuring that DDaT operates an effective resource and recruitment planning process. This covers the end-to-end people process including recruitment, staff moves and departures. Given DDaT is continually evolving, you will be pivotal to this work. You will be supporting colleagues at all levels within DDaT, DBT staff working in DBT\'s Resourcing and Finance teams, and third-party suppliers of interim labour support. You will be continually looking for opportunities to improve current ways of working.
This role is available in three UK locations, including central London, Cardiff, and Darlington\'s new economic hub. This role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Most DBT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in the office on average. Changes to these working arrangements are available in certain circumstances but must be agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role. Travel to your primary office location will not be paid for by DBT, but costs for travel to an office which is not your main location will be covered.
