Downtide Caravans are looking for qualified caravan and motorhome woodworker to work with their existing team. it would be good if the applicant had experience in the caravan business, however, this isn't essential to work in their workshop-approved caravan area. Training could be given to the right candidate.

This is a busy family run business and they are currently the main age for Adria, Buccaneer, Elddis, Xplore Caravans, and Swift Motorhomes, however, they also sell and service all makes and models of previously owned caravans and motorhomes.

We are seeking a skilled Woodworker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking and the ability to work with various materials and tools. This role involves crafting, assembling, and finishing wooden products, while ensuring high-quality standards are met. The successful applicant will be comfortable with heavy lifting and possess a keen eye for detail.

Duties

Fabricate wooden structures and components according to specifications. Assemble furniture and other wooden items using hand tools and power tools. Perform joinery techniques to create strong and durable connections. Conduct painting and finishing tasks to enhance the appearance of finished products. Use plumb lines and levels to ensure accuracy in construction. Carry out basic electrical tasks as required for specific projects. Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain workflow. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools are stored correctly after use. Adhere to safety regulations while operating machinery and handling materials.

Qualifications

Proven experience in woodworking or a related field is essential. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job (up to 50 kg). Knowledge of joinery techniques, fabrication processes, and assembly methods. Experience with painting and finishing wood products is advantageous. Basic understanding of electrical work related to woodworking projects is a plus. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
