Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of window types, ensuring that they meet both aesthetic and functional standards. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with various materials and tools. The successful applicant will have a solid understanding of building practices and the ability to interpret schematics.

Responsibilities

Install windows in residential and commercial properties according to specifications. Measure and cut materials accurately to ensure proper fitting. Fabricate window frames and structures as needed. Ensure all installations comply with safety regulations and quality standards. Perform repairs on existing windows, including sealing, glazing, and replacing damaged components. Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters, electricians, and masons to complete projects efficiently. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools are properly stored after use. Communicate effectively with clients regarding project progress and any issues that may arise.

Skills

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to window fitting. Strong understanding of building regulations and safety practices. Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings. Experience in carpentry, masonry, or roofing is advantageous. Knowledge of electrical systems related to window installations is beneficial. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical stamina to perform manual tasks for extended periods.
