Overview

The Wind Turbine Technician plays a crucial role in the renewable energy sector, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines. This position requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, as well as the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. The technician will ensure that wind turbines operate efficiently and safely, contributing to sustainable energy production.

Responsibilities

Install and assemble wind turbine components according to specifications. Conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Use hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and installations. Perform welding tasks as necessary to ensure structural integrity of turbine components. Dig trenches for cable laying and other installations as required. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working at heights and in confined spaces. Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals and improve processes.

Skills

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems. Proficient in electrical systems related to wind turbine operations. Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Basic welding skills for structural repairs on turbine components. Ability to dig trenches and perform physical tasks associated with installation work. Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
