Our stunning new care home Formby Manor Care Centre, is a purpose built facility which is located in Formby, Merseyside. The home is registered to provide care to 76 residents who have a variety of needs including residential, nursing and dementia residential. The home opened in July 2019 and reflects the New Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort and care. The home meets all CQC requirements and provides the highest of safety, comfort and care to residents who have variety of care needs including residential, nursing and dementia. We invest in our homes to enhance the experience of our residents. The includes OOMPH an award winning activities and wellbeing programme. We have also introduced electronic medication administration records and electronic in all of our homes. In addition, Formby Manor has acoustic monitoring and silent nurse call installed. Formby Manor has a 5* EHO rating. New Care has had a 0 agency usage for over 3 years as we employ a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care to residents from staff that know them and that residents know and trust. Across New Care all of our staff are paid above national living wage.
We are seeking to appoint a Wellbeing ( Activities ) Assistant to join our team. You will contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive culture around therapeutic activities in the home. To deliver and support the Wellbeing Coordinator in developing a programme that has a whole team approach and forms a core part of the offering in the home. We have a part time contract available with a excellent hourly rate of \xc2\xa310.50! Shift times are 1000-1630 with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities:
\xc2\xb7Contribute to the creation of ongoing weekly activity programmes that ensure a wide range of opportunities are available to stimulate the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of all residents.
\xc2\xb7Provide an innovative programme so that residents can achieve extraordinary things, with their capabilities.
\xc2\xb7Motivate and guide other members of staff in the home to incorporate wellbeing and activity into their role wherever possible, with support and direction from the Wellbeing Coordinator.
\xc2\xb7Be familiar with a resident\xe2\x80\x99s life story and Wellbeing and Activity plan for each residents and contribute to that plan and that it is regularly reviewed.
\xc2\xb7Ensure adequate and up to date risk assessments are in place for all events and activities planned and undertaken in liaison with the Wellbeing Coordinator.
\xc2\xb7Understand the needs of people with the various conditions residents have in the home.
\xc2\xb7Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults that the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.
Skills and experience required:
\xc2\xb7Experience of working with older people is essential.
\xc2\xb7Experience of delivering an activity programme is essential.
\xc2\xb7Evidence of the ability to assess, plan and evaluate the activity needs of older people is essential.
\xc2\xb7The ability to work individually and in a team is essential.
\xc2\xb7Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential
\xc2\xb7Demonstrate the ability to prioritise and handle emergency situations effectively.
\xc2\xb7Be creative, imaginative and enthusiastic and have the ability to forward plan .
