EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Waste Network team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Waste Incident Responder (Tanker Driver).
In your new role, you\'ll be a safe, professional driver in up to 44T vacuum tankers and be operating these for the collection and delivery of liquid biosolids and other waste products primarily within the Severn Trent network, with some jetting and cleansing tasks. Working as initially incident response, you will be the first on the scene to stop pollutions or hold them until the issue is fixed.
At times when we do not have incidents you will be using your experience to carry out planned work on our sewage treatment sites to ensure they are kept up to standard and are working as efficiently as possible.
Based out of Leicester water centre you will be working 4 days on 4 days off 0600 - 1730 hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
You\'ll maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, including drivers\' hours, working time directive and vehicle roadworthiness. It will be your job to complete day to day work instructions given by the Planning Office or Line Manager and to provide communication to all stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner to ensure people are up to date with what is happening.
Have use of STW IT systems as required to fulfil your role, including tanker load information, safety systems, e-learning and working hours entry and you will be expected to report any site or equipment issues to line manager for resolution. You will also look to highlight efficiency opportunities in order to reduce overall cost to Severn Trent.
WHAT YOU\'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To be successful, it\'s expected that you\'ll have experience of driving LGV Class 2 (C) vehicles will be invaluable. We will also require you to have ideally have knowledge of using vacuum tankers and also it would be brilliant if you have previous waste water experience.
