Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Waste Operative HGV Class 2 driver to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing waste collection and disposal processes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to operate various vehicles and bin lifting equipment, while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.

Duties

Safely operate waste collection vehicles, bin lifting equipment to transport food waste to designated disposal site.*
Collect and exchange 240-litre wheeled bins containing food and catering waste from client premises.*
Safely deliver and return bins to designated locations.*
Record daily activities and send reports via email to relevant parties.*
Complete all required documentation accurately.*
Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained and cleaned, conducting daily checks.*
Follow health and safety procedures at all times, maintaining high standards of productivity, attendance, and customer satisfaction.*
Act as a professional and courteous ambassador for Food Waste Services Ltd.*
Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers, promoting equal opportunities and mutual respect.*

Qualifications

HGV Class 2 minimum. ( 10 tonne vehicle) Previous experience as a collections driver or in a similar role is advantageous.*
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate effective teamwork.*
A valid driving licence with experience in commercial driving is required.*
A Valid CPC qualification.*
Ability to work unsupervised, adjusting routes as needed to account for road closures, weather conditions, or delays.*
Physically capable of handling heavy wheeled bins and climbing in and out of vehicles.*
Mental resilience to handle working in traffic and various weather conditions.*
Comfortable working outdoors, even in challenging and sometimes unpleasant environments.*
