This role will facilitate and ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are safely and accurately unloaded, received, checked and put-away and execute all other tasks relating to warehouse operation in accordance with operational and health and safety procedures.The successful candidate will be able to follow standard operating procedures and work in a methodical and tidy manner, possessing a comprehensive understanding of material / stock management techniques and inventory control methods and procedures.Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the warehouse operative has overall accountability daily warehousing operations which includes receiving, put away, inventory, picking, packing and delivery of items, operating Manual Handling Equipment as required and minimising any losses and damages during these processes.Key TasksEnsure greatest care is exercised in safe handling of cargoes, and adequate protection provided to cargoes during handling, storing, packing and deliveryEnsure all incoming / outgoing materials are checked, identified, marked and stored as appropriate and in accordance with cargo receipt procedures set by companyEnsure proper administration and document control pertaining to receipt or issue of cargo including compliance to aviation security guidelines and HMRCDuties / ResponsibilitiesMaintain workplace safety and security of the warehouseMaintain workplace tidiness and cleanliness of the warehouseEnsure non-conformance cargoes are isolated, identified and reported to immediate supervisor for appropriate actionsEnsure timely and accurate update of cargoes receipt / release to shipping, operations and procurement departmentWarehouse personnel with Forklift License will perform Forklift Operator function when requiredEnsure compliance to DG (Dangerous Goods) receipt, Check list completion and correct hazard type segregation and dispatchEnsure compliance with safety, quality, health, and environment procedures, reporting any incidents or accidents immediately to the relevant managerPerform packing & container stuffing / un-stuffing functionsPerform all duties/functions in accordance with HSE working practice guidelinesDeliver individual and departmental KPIsAd hoc tasks as required by the businessSkills and Competencies2 x GCSEs - Desirable but not essentialRelevant transport qualifications - Desirable but not essentialPrevious Warehouse experience - Desirable but not essentialAbility to challenge health and safety failuresUse own initiative/proactive in suggestion improvement in proceduresUnderstanding of basic health and safety principlesGood understanding of English language - Written and verbalPlan and manage own time wellStrong computer skills on Microsoft OfficeThe ability to adapt to in-house operating systems / Warehouse scannersDG AwarenessForklift License - Desirable but not essentialD1 Reach & Straddle Truck/(relevant to operational requirement)B1 Counterbalance truck Up To 5000kgB2 Counterbalance truck 5000kg Up To 15000kgWhat can we offer you?Competitive Salary Package and an opportunity to be a part of and grow within a driven and successful company, with a team of 75,000, operating in over 95+ countries.Be part of a company that has strong ambitions and targets for sustainability initiatives, both internally and externally.
