Job Description

Experienced people centric Warehouse Manager needed for our 100,000 sq ft warehouse. With a 35+ team, doubling at peak, and up to 15,000 orders a day we need a hands on leader who is resilient, analytical and driven.

This role would suit someone from any fast paced industry, particularly retail, logistics or hospitality with a passion for purposeful people management.

Utilising online sales through our two brands, Garden Mile and Marco Paul, we provide a wide variety of beautifully crafted products for both home and garden, selling everything you could wish to maintain and beautify your indoor and outdoor space.

Purpose:

As a Warehouse Lead, you are responsible for managing the overall warehouse operations, which includes but is not limited to, overseeing labour management, productivity, quality control, ensuring timely dispatch of all orders, and implementing safety measures throughout the business. Always being driven to achieve results set out and able to motivate the warehouse team to share the same drive.

In addition to this, it will be your responsibility analyse trends, gather relevant information and data and report your findings to the leadership team to enhance warehouse functions. Creating action plans to address any identified issues to mitigate potential losses for the business.

Lead and manage the warehouse team effectively, ensuring high morale and that staff feel valued. This role encompasses all aspects of people management, including effective communication, training initiatives, team development, performance evaluation, and conducting any necessary formal meetings.

Main responsibilities:

Using real-time data collection to increase accuracy of labour costs required. Ensuring to plan and schedule manpower in an effective manner for targets are met in a cost effective manner. Oversee all Warehouse Operations personnel, focusing on the development and advancement of our Warehouse Supervisors and Senior team members. Conduct performance evaluations and ensuring training is provided when necessary. Always maintaining and fostering an approachable attitude to team, ensuring to promote positive working relationships across the whole business. Support and carry out any formal and informal meetings as required, including but not limited to appraisals, return to work interviews, disciplinary meetings and investigations. Ensure to all information shared with new and existing team members is accurate and follows the companies policies and procedures. Identify any potential issues at the earliest opportunity, carrying out spot checks on orders/stock and proactively looking for potential trends/patterns to get ahead of and resolve. Gathering and evaluating data from prior peak seasons, ensuring strategies are implemented in advance for an efficient upcoming peak season. Plan and coordinate with all departments within the business on projects/incoming stock to ensure smooth and seamless running of activities. Managing stock control and checks on inventory within the warehouse. Ensuring inventory records are accurate and up to date at all times. Ensuring that work equipment is readily accessible to employees and is functioning properly. Verifying that equipment levels are accurate and properly documented. Multitask throughout the full working day, often planning/carrying out numerous tasks whilst maintaining and not losing focus on priority tasks. Delegating daily workflow to team throughout the working day, ensuring all orders are fulfilled and dispatched from building. Maintaining relationships with all couriers used and building rapport to ensure we have a good working relationship. Effectively scheduling collections and proactively planning for any additional pickups that may be necessary in advance. Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, adhering to, and enforcing standards and procedures, while consistently complying with legal regulations.

Pay: 29,000.00-34,000.00 per year
