Are you looking for night work? Could you support adults with learning disabilities when they are wakeful during the night? No experience necessary.We are seeking a Waking Night Support Worker to join our friendly team of Support Workers at a Supported Living service in Coed y Glyn, Wrexham where we support 4 adults aged from 29 -48 who like to be out and about as much as possible.Intrigued to know a bit more about a few of these wonder individuals?James* does voluntary work in a garden centre and has a very busy schedule going out and about, visiting new places. He loves gadgets and finding out how things work. He needs help getting everything ready for the next day.Laura* enjoys going out in the car, going to coffee shops and people watching! She likes a good chat in the evenings.Simon* also loves walking an exploring the local area and can often come home ready for a good rest. He likes routine and everything to be tidied and cleaned ready for the next day. He needs help getting ready for the evening including brushing teeth and preparing his clothes for the next day.What would you be doing?As you would have guessed, the people we support are very active during the day and may want to chat about their activities and what they've been up to before they go to bed. That's when your presence is needed.You would be the person who is available when they are wakeful at night, to maybe administer medication if needed and to reassure and chat with them so they are able to go back to sleep.You need to check at regular intervals to ensure they are comfortable and getting a good night's sleep ready for the next day.You will need to provide support with personal care or medication.This is an important role to make sure people feel safe at all times and not vulnerable during the night, so this is more about providing an emotional reassurance.This is a part-time position that is a 9 hour shift (approx from 10.30pm -7.30 am) for 2 days a week Monday and Tuesday.*Names changed for privacy"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office.
