ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the vision, growth strategy, and business plan for SITA at Airports BU. The VP of Strategy will drive transformation, develop commercial models, and identify key M&A opportunities to expand SITA's influence in the airport operations domain. This role will directly influence SITA's long-term strategy, with a focus on optimizing airport operational systems and processes related to the day of operations, resource management, passenger flow, baggage departure, and security.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead the Airports Customer Growth Team including Sales Specialists, Business Development and Marketing team.
Own the SITA at Airports growth plans and develop and implement a documented business plan that is in line with short- and long-term goals.
Work with the Geography (GEO) based Sales VPs to manage the pipeline of qualified, active opportunities and coach the team to deal closure. Ensure there is a strategic fit between the opportunity and SITA capabilities.
Identify, qualify and define strategy for major projects in the GEO. Support the GEO throughout the entire sales process for major projects, conduct reviews and prepare monthly reports for the Executive Leadership team.
Develop strong executive relationships with key customer stakeholders and become a trusted advisor for them; ensure customer loyalty, advocacy and highest level of customer satisfaction.
Own the SITA at Airports sales targets and forecast, working closer with each GEO.
Understand how for existing customer accounts we can upsell and cross-sell, including the identification of opportunities in new buying areas.
Manage the General Managers of our existing customers and support them and the GEO account teams in the development of Account Development Plans.
Position SITA as a thought leader and innovator in airports management with the market and specific customers, and ultimately their partner of choice; promote brand visibility together with marketing.
Share competitive intelligence obtained through effective networking to arm sales with knowledge, messaging ideas and suggested tactics to help win in competitive situations. Keep up to date with competitors' products, tactics, strategies and pricing.
Lead the Airport BU Marketing team and develop a comprehensive marketing strategy securing the success for the BU. Control and manage the marketing budgets.
Become an expert in the SITA at Airports products and be able to position them effectively in the market. Become an industry known thought leader for Airport strategy and represent SITA in digital channels, media and panel discussions.
Be the strong BU voice throughout the SITA organization and become a member of the SITA at Airports leadership team, including active participation in leadership meetings and discussions.
Define and execute the strategic roadmap for SITA at Airports BU, aligning with corporate strategic goals.
Develop and implement a commercial model that enhances business growth and customer satisfaction.
Drive transformation initiatives in airport master planning and operational strategy.
Lead the development of business plans, including potential M&A and strategic partnerships to strengthen SITA's market position.
Collaborate with SITA stakeholders to convert vision into actionable strategic and business plans.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with airport authorities, regulators, and industry leaders.
Identify market opportunities and trends, positioning SITA as a thought leader in airport operations and technology.
Oversee the formalization of a new organizational structure within the Airports BU, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide leadership to direct reports (TBC) and ensure the strategic alignment of all functions within the business unit.
Qualifications: WHO YOU AREMinimum of 9-13 years' experience in a related role.
Deep knowledge of the IT & ATI industry and economic drivers, latest trends, and innovations.
Very good understanding of the latest trends and innovations within relevant technology areas - air transport industry will be a strong plus.
Excellent knowledge of the IT industries and their economic drivers.
Innovation skills and a track record of significant experience in delivering lasting results in one or several of the following: Sales, Business Development, Marketing and Product Management (innovation, revenue, margin, strategy, P&L) in global business environment and in technology solutions-based Business.
Excellent capability in leading and influencing direct team and virtual teams within an international environment.
Successfully lead sales & marketing teams in a B2B tech environment.
Experience in building client relationships at CxO and Senior Executive level.
Recognized expert in Airport Management desired.
Very strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Track record of achieving business growth.
Very good knowledge of project management and service operations
Experience of working in a matrix environment, liaising with different teams to drive overall business success.
Extensive hands-on experience in airport operations, strategic planning, and transformation.
In-depth knowledge of airport operational systems, including day-of-operations optimization, passenger flow, baggage handling, and resource management.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in developing business and commercial strategies.
Proven track record in leading transformation and change management within the airport sector.
Ability to drive strategic projects and align with SITA's stakeholders to deliver results.
Strong people management and leadership skills, capable of leading diverse teams.
NICE-TO-HAVEStrong SITA and/or Airports portfolio knowledge (products, services)
Experience with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the airport or aviation industry
Prior experience in formalizing organizational structures and leading restructuring efforts.
Recognized expert in airport management and operations.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
20-25% travel expected.
