Job Description

St Ives Town Football Club is an established non-league football club playing in the Southern League Premier Division Central which is Step three of the national league system.

The club media team currently consists of two volunteers who have a number of responsibilities. For the 2025/26 season, which starts in August, the team is looking to expand the work that it does and are now inviting applications for a volunteer media assistant.

Description of duties:

To assist with creating new and engaging content for the club website so that all teams at the club from first team through to reserve, youth and ladies benefit from regular publicity. To provide content and assist with the compilation and design of the matchday programme for all home first team matches. This is currently produced via an online magazine. To contribute to the club social media strategy. Assist with post-match interviews of players and management. To provide input for new projects and ideas with a view to expanding the media operation at the club. For example, a club podcast. To provide cover as and when required for other duties within the media team.
Knowledge/Skills

Excellent IT skills including knowledge of Canva and Wordpress. Competent in the use of Social Media and Video editing. Excellent writing skills Good communication skills inclusive of the confidence to conduct interviews with players and management The ability to think of new and creative ideas that would help promote the club. Knowledge of Podcasting. A reasonable knowledge of/interest in football Reliability as well as being an excellent team player.
Whilst this is a voluntary role, the successful candidate is expected to be available for first team home games throughout the season. These are normally every other Saturday and on several midweek nights (currently Monday), and all volunteers get free entry to matches. There is no expectation to attend away games, but the successful candidate can do so if they so wish and will benefit from a media pass to the game. A normal season starts in early August and finishes in late April, but the role is available with an immediate start date as we look to make plans for the 2025/26 campaign.
