What you'll do
We have an exciting opportunity for the newly created role of Volunteer Coordinator to join our growing team. Reporting to the Governance and Operations Manager, you will work closely with them to establish, support and deliver the Volunteer Programme, having responsibility for the recruitment, training and development of the organisation's volunteers.
As part of your role, your main responsibilities will include:
Researching and writing volunteer policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
Recruiting and interviewing volunteers and ensuring they are appropriately matched and trained for a position.
Ensuring there is appropriate support and training for volunteers through regular informal contact and more structured reviews.
Organising rotas and providing inductions and training for volunteers.
Organising profile raising events to attract new volunteers.
Managing budgets and resources, including the reimbursement of expenses.
Monitoring and evaluating activities, including writing reports for funders and trustees.
Maintaining databases and undertaking any other administrative duties.
Please note, occasional evening and weekend work maybe required as part of the role.
About you
The successful candidate for this role will have:
Experience of managing and supporting team members.
The ability to work with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
An organised and systematic approach to monitoring and reporting.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Sound knowledge of volunteer related legislative developments.
Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, particularly for database related work and report writing.
Experience of recruitment.
A full driving licence (max 6 points).
