Job Description
Can you imagine going through a week and not speaking to a single person? Unfortunately, this is a real-life circumstance for many people living in the Maldon District.
Age Well East offers a free befriending service to vulnerable people living in Essex who are lonely or isolated. We support anyone over the age of 18 in need of friendship.
Our befrienders can provide telephone calls, face-to-face visits, video chats or email friendships.
If you are compassionate and able to spare an hour a week to chat to a lonely and isolated person and brighten their week, please apply to become a volunteer today.
Age Well East provides full training and a nominated Friendship Coordinator to support you throughout your volunteering journey.
Volunteers must be happy to provide 2 x character references and have an enhanced DBS check (paid for and arranged by Age Well East).
