We are looking to recruit a pool of Visiting Demonstrators in Computing to be available to provide assistance on our popular Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.

Located in a modern 300M campus in the heart of Birmingham, the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Built Environment is a thriving, vibrant, and inspiring learning community committed to excellence in research, high quality teaching and impactful industrial engagement.



We are looking to recruit a pool of Visiting Demonstrators to be available to provide assistance on our popular Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.



The successful candidates will assist our Lecturing staff in the delivering of laboratory and teaching sessions across our courses in Computing. Teaching or Demonstrating experience would be advantageous, as would qualifications in Computer Science, Networking and Information Technology degrees in Higher Education.



Building on continuous success in student growth and in sustained advancement of research activities, the School has embarked on a programme of extensive expansion funded by substantial long-term investments. The Faculty is looking to appoint Visiting Demonstrators in Computer Science, Computer Networks, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Data Science & Analytics, Human-Computer Interaction, Games Development, along with other topics allied to our current portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Computing.



Opportunities exist for duties related to our transnational education activity. The successful candidates should have knowledge and exposure to subjects in Computing, demonstrated through an excellent academic track record or equivalent industry experience. Training can be provided.

Please note that Visiting Lecturer posts are part time, fixed term contracts for which a specific amount of hours work will be agreed between you and the Faculty. Visiting Lecturer posts are paid hourly and there are a range of pay rates dependant on the role. As and when relevant teaching hours become available that your CV and experience are suitable for, you will be contacted by the Faculty directly to discuss in more detail. Please be aware that you are not guaranteed to hear back from the Faculty.



The Visiting Lecturer talent pool will be reviewed every 6 months from the posting date and you will be contacted to confirm if you would still like to be considered. If you do not reply your stored details will be deleted in line with our Data Protection Policy.
