An opportunity has arisen within Salford Virtual School Team for an experienced, passionate and compassionate qualified teacher to join our team for 12 months. Prospective candidates must possess QTS and be able to demonstrate recent primary phase teaching experience. Ideally, you will have experience of improving outcomes for cared for children.
This can be offered as either a fixed term contract, or a secondment.
This is an advisory role and will not require you to teach, but we need someone who has a good knowledge and understanding of improving outcomes for cohorts and individuals, including targeting setting and identifying appropriate interventions. You will need to be able to offer credible advice, support and training to schools, social work colleagues and other partners.
You will also need to have a good understanding of how adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and trauma can impact on the educational experience for young people. You will need to have knowledge and understanding of statutory responsibilities for Promoting the Educational Achievement and Progress of Looked After Children, and will understand the role of the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children. You will be experienced in multi-agency working to achieve positive outcomes.
You will have the ability to maintain effective professional relationships and manage complex meetings. You will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic and well organised with the flexibility to meet deadlines.
In return, we offer a very supportive team environment, flexible working with good training and excellent opportunities for professional development.
