Two Rivers Veterinary Practice is moving from Old Town, Peebles to new purpose built and beautifully finished premises in Cavalry Park this summer. We are an eight vet independent mixed practice with surgeries in Peebles and Biggar, well known for excellent client service and compassionate care of our patients.

We are looking for someone with considerable experience of working in veterinary practice to take day to day responsibility for the efficient running of our new surgery. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that our reception, admin and nursing teams are best positioned to support our vets and deliver an ouststanding level of service to our clients. They will have a passion for high standards of patient care and enthusiasm for continual improvement and development of our practice.

The role would suit an experienced RVN looking to move away from clinical work and progress into a management role, although the ideal candidate would also welcome the opportunity to continue some involvement in practical veterinary nursing as part of our RVN team. Applicants without a nursing qualification would be considered for a non-clinical management-only role, but our preference would be for an RVN.

Previous leadership experience is an advantage, but more important are exceptional people skills and the ability to motivate, encourage and support others to work efficiently and effectively together as a team. The successful applicant will be cheerful and empathetic with excellent communication skills and have a genuine interest in helping our team be the best they can be. They will be a confident problem-solver and have the ability to make difficult decisions and demonstrate resilience when faced with challenges.

The position is full time Monday to Friday plus Saturday mornings on a rota basis. Exact hours are negotiable. Salary will be commensurate with experience and reviewed annually. Annual leave is 30 days per year (including bank holidays) and increases with length of service. There is a 4% employer pension contribution (5% if desired after 1 year), and sick and maternity pay policies are in excess of statutory (benefits dependant on length of service). RCVS and VDS fees are paid, along with one other membership eg BVNA. CPD is encouraged and funded.
