Overview


Southside Veterinary Clinic, the home of independent veterinary care in Glasgow, are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Nurse to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting our veterinary team in clinical procedures, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both animals and their owners. This position requires a strong background in veterinary practices and laboratory procedures, alongside a genuine love for animals. Responsibilities



Assist veterinary team during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the vet. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals pre- and post-surgery. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. Provide support to pet owners by offering guidance on animal care and health issues. Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the clinic, including sterilisation of equipment. Participate in continuous professional development to stay updated with veterinary practices.

Experience



Previous experience as a Veterinary Nurse or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care.

Pay: 28,000.00-31,000.00 per year
