About the team
As a credible member of the Transport Services team you will: Be part of the team which provides maintains and services and repairs the fleet and its ancillary equipment and supports the provision of safe drinking water and environmental services to 1.3 million households across Wales and Herefordshire
Work in a professional environment and support the team and the wider business in keeping the fleet in the best possible condition through the highest standards of maintenance
As a Vehicle Technician you will:
Ensure that the DCWW fleet and its ancillary water industry equipment is maintained to the highest standards
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with our policies and procedures
Support the performance of the team by working in a professional and efficient way
Ensure that all aspects of vehicle and plant maintenance are completed, including paperwork and job card record keeping
Support the team in achieving safety, performance and budget targets
Respond to customer requests and requirements as necessary
What you'll be responsible for
Working as part of a team at a busy garage
Carrying out routine servicing of vehicles in line with manufacturers standards as well as planned maintenance and repairs of both vehicles and ancillary equipment. This will include hydraulics, auto-electrics, engines, braking systems, diagnostics, chassis work as well as all other aspects of fleet maintenance
Complete all maintenance records
Carry out all work in accordance with the company's Health and Safety procedures and systems.

About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Full UK Driving Licence
Experienced in maintaining commercial vehicles
A good knowledge of health and safety requirements in vehicle maintenance
Ideally NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Light Vehicle Technology with post apprenticeship experience on Light Vehicles
The ability to work on your own initiative, to plan and organise workloads and to complete all necessary documentation
Good computer skills - Excel, Email and Fleet systems
Good customer service skills

The successful candidate shift patterns are Monday to Thursday 8.00-16:00 & Friday 8.00-15:30.
You will be on Standby 1 week in 6.
