UX Designer
Radbroke

As a Barclays Senior UX Designer, you will be leading the research and design for colleague-facing sites including our award-winning intranet. Our colleague sites are used every day by over 80,000 colleagues and are designed to increase efficiency and productivity. The role reports to the Head of Design for the Digital Colleague Experience team.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?

• Researching and designing new sites and digital products, from discovery to final delivery
• You will often be the sole UX designer designing a new site from scratch
• Designing site structures, taxonomy and user journeys
• Researching and usability testing with colleagues
• Creating front-end functional specifications for handoff to developers e.g. detailed annotated wireframes covering states for all use cases
• Working closely with our UI designers
• Collaborating and building relationships with colleagues across the business
• Explaining the rationale for your design decisions to developers, managers and stakeholders and finding the right balance between business requirements and user needs

What we\xe2\x80\x99re looking for:

• A comprehensive portfolio showing examples of your work, and process from discovery and ideation through to final design
• Experience of respectfully challenging managers, leaders and stakeholders when the proposed solution is detrimental to the end user
• A high standard of written and spoken English
• While we do not specify number of years\xe2\x80\x99 experience, the candidate needs to have worked up from entry level through middleweight roles before reaching senior level

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
