About the role
As Segment Underwriting Manager, you\xe2\x80\x99ll play a pivotal role in shaping our underwriting strategy across our Home, Motor, High Net Worth, Travel and Pet products, driving technical standards, profitability and growth whilst effectively managing and controlling our risk exposure.
You\xe2\x80\x99ll lead and develop a small team of technical underwriters, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration, whilst overseeing focused segment underwriting capabilities across the business for Personal Lines. This will include contributing to the management of our authority framework and industry leading Learning and Development programme as part of our Underwriting Excellence strategy.
As well as managing portfolio performance and policy wordings, you\xe2\x80\x99ll drive the Departments\xe2\x80\x99 capability in making data-driven decisions that will optimise profitability and risk exposure.
This role will also provide you with the opportunity to add valuable contribution to our largest transformation programme to date, which will see us starting to sell our products online as well as the introduction of a new policy administration system. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work closely with the programme, providing your expert underwriting knowledge to ensure changes are aligned with company goals and regulatory requirements.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.
About you
You\xe2\x80\x99ll be a proven underwriting leader with experience and strong market knowledge across both Home and Motor personal lines products, including online channels. It would be advantageous if you have experience of working with High-Net-Worth products too.
