We are currently looking to appoint a Ukrainian and Asylum Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join our Housing Solutions Team on a fixed term basis.
As the Ukrainian and Asylum Tenancy Sustainment Officer, you will support the Housing Solutions Supervisor and team on the day-to-day operation of the following housing service areas at the Council; Homelessness, Lettings, Allocations, in relation to the Ukrainian & Asylum cohort.
You will provide support to Ukrainian Nationals and Asylum Seekers who approach the Housing Solutions Team and are seeking re-settlement in the South Derbyshire District Council area. You will be assisting with helping applicants approach as homeless, help with setting up housing register applications, secure private rented accomodation and re-matching of hosts where applicable.
You will liaise with the Environmental Health Team to ensure that prospective and existing Ukrainian hosts are suitably vetted and Ukrainian host properties have had the necessary fitness checks.
You will administer and access funding streams for Ukrainian Nationals and Asylum Seekers who are seeking re-settlement in the South Derbyshire District Council area.
You will be the appointed officer liaising with SERCO on Asylum Dispersal in the South Derbyshire District Council area.
You will assist in undertaking home visits, office interviews and virtual interviews as required proactively targeting the Ukrainian National and Asylum Seeker at risk groups.
You will provide support to members of the Housing Solutions Team and manage your own caseload alongside this.
You will be required to attend some internal meetings on behalf of the Housing Solutions Team and represent the Council at multi-agency external meetings.
To be succesful in this role you will need to have working experience of Housing/Homelessnessness, Lettings and Allocations, knowledge of welefare benefits, knowledge of teh asylum seeking process, be self-motivated, decisive and results driven, with a strong customer focus.
