Working Arrangement: This is a dynamic hybrid role that balances focused in office work and client engagement with the flexibility of remote work. You will spend three days per week in our London Westminster office and/or at client sites across the region, with up to two days working from home.

Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities



We are seeking a dynamic UK Regional Market Director to drive strategic alignment and operational excellence in this key region. You will play a crucial role in leading member engagement and business development initiatives, ensuring alignment with RICS' overarching UK objectives.




In this role, you will:




- Design and implement membership and commercial strategies across the central UK market, focusing on sustainable membership growth and enhancing the value proposition for our members.


- Act as the external face of RICS, building strong relationships with senior leaders in member firms, government bodies, and regional policymakers to amplify RICS' influence and impact.


- Use your business development skills to identify and engage with relevant external stakeholders, growing RICS' influence and business opportunities across the region.


- Identify and develop new opportunities, cultivating impactful partnerships and driving sustainable regional growth in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.


- Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing regional team, fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusivity. You will ensure that every team member has the opportunity to grow and contribute to RICS' success.


- Oversee the financial performance of the region, ensuring compliance and driving commercial planning to meet regional goals.


- Work closely with internal RICS stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of all initiatives, collaborating across teams and promoting a positive and productive office culture in Birmingham.


- Represent RICS at key industry events and forums, advocating for RICS' strategic priorities and engaging with policymakers to shape the future of the industry.


About You



You bring strategic insight and practical experience, navigating complex environments and building collaborative relationships. Your proven skills encompass commercial and financial management, business growth, and team development, enabling you to excel in these areas. You also understand how to foster a positive, people focused working environment and thrive in a hybrid model (three days office, two days remote).




- Master's degree (or equivalent experience) with expertise in commercial and financial oversight.


- Experience in senior stakeholder relationships and team development.


- Proven experience in business development, key account management, and client progression (Quantity Surveying, Valuation, Commercial Real Estate preferred).


- Proven ability in business planning, proposal development, and complex problem solving.


- Capacity for multi-regional stakeholder engagement and willingness to travel.


- Understanding of people-focused office culture and cross-team collaboration.


- Ability to work within a hybrid model, requiring three days regional presence (including London office and client visits), and two days remote.
