Responsibilities: Represent and advise individuals and businesses on privacy legal issues under UK and EU law. Work on a wide range of privacy, data protection, and data security matters including compliance with the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), data security breaches, international data transfers, and cookie and ePrivacy compliance. Advise on new and emerging laws and regulations. Advise clients on complex technology issues such as adtech, artificial intelligence, and cloud technologies. Take client instructions and formulate strategic legal advice on privacy and data protection matters including regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, GDPR compliance programs, international data transfers, cookie and marketing compliance, security incident response, data subject access requests, and regulatory enquiries. Prepare legal documents including privacy notices, cookie policies, data processing and international transfer agreements, security incident response plans, and other data protection policies. Advise clients on performing audits such as gap analysis to assess compliance with regulatory requirements and advise clients on remediation plans that describe how to close those gaps and achieve compliance. Investigate and analyze data security incidents, provide clients with strategic advice on how to resolve incidents, and help to coordinate any necessary notifications and filings. Assist clients with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data processing and international data transfer agreements with customers, suppliers and other third parties. Prepare data protection impact assessments and legitimate interest assessments, and conduct other legal research and analysis. Coordinate multi-jurisdictional projects involving local counsel, and provide clients with practical and strategic advice regarding the same. Advise clients on new and emerging regulations impacting the technology sector, such as the ePrivacy Regulation, Data Governance Act and Artificial Intelligence Act. Deliver staff training to clients on legal and regulatory issues and prepare internal know-how for colleagues. Communicate with clients and ensure the highest standard of client care and communication while being responsible for aspects of client management, anticipate clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs, and provide legal advice. Education: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or foreign equivalent in Law, Legal Studies, or related field. Experience: 1 year of experience as Privacy and Data Protection Solicitor/Lawyer, or related occupation. Alternate Requirements: Will accept a single degree or any combination of degrees, diplomas or professional credentials determined to be equivalent to a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or foreign equivalent in Law, Legal Studies, or related field by a qualified credential service and 1 year of experience as Privacy and Data Protection Solicitor/Lawyer, or related occupation. Licensure requirement: California State Bar License required; Qualification as a Solicitor with Senior Courts of England and Wales.
