To proceed to the next stage, candidates must have relevant teaching qualifications, such as QTS, PGCE, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, Lvl 3 AET, lvl 3 TA or HLTA.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach Tutor in Coventry to provide educational support to students of various ages and learning abilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students achieve their academic goals. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to educate in a way that is engaging and tailored to individual needs.
Hours & Pay for an Outreach Tutor
You will be paid for
each tutoring hour delivered
, based on the hours allocated to each pupil.
Hours may vary
depending on the pupil's individual needs and the agreed support plan.
All hours and schedules will be
clearly discussed with you
before sessions begin.
We aim to provide
local assignments
, keeping travel time to a minimum.
If travel exceeds
30 minutes
, a
higher rate of pay
will be offered - agreed upon in advance.
You'll be working as an
agency worker
, so
no need to register as self-employed
(unless that's your preference - we can accommodate both).
Duties
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in specific subjects or skills. This could take place at the students home or school.
Assess students' strengths and weaknesses to develop personalised learning plans.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators to track progress and address concerns.
Create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
Educate students using various teaching methods, including hands-on activities, visual aids, and technology.
Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching strategies as required.
Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes confidence and motivation in learners.
Experience
Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred, particularly with children, ideally 3 year plus.
Familiarity with special education practices is advantageous.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with students and parents.
A genuine passion for education and helping others succeed is crucial.
Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles.
Must have a teaching qualification.
