Trust Non Executive Director

Manchester, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Non-Executive Director who will bring challenge, support, innovation, & passion to the team.

It is a pivotal time to join us, as we continue to drive our five-year Trust Strategy, refine our new Operating Model, & work to deliver a multi-year recovery plan. In short, our vision is to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our residents across Manchester & beyond, through the effective integration of health & social care services, with a focus on the prevention of ill health & tackling health inequalities. This is where you come in.

You will be joining us at a time of enormous challenge but also of huge opportunity. With a backdrop of ever-increasing demand on our services, & financial constraints, the years since the pandemic have presented unprecedented challenges for all of us.

For this particular opportunity, we would welcome candidates who have operated at a senior/board level, with sound proven experience as a medical clinician (but not exclusive to). This will have been gained in a large & complex organisation, who will be responsible for chairing the Trust's Quality, Performance & Safety Committee.

We would also positively support first Non-Executive Director applicants, providing you with a thorough induction & ongoing support, but quite simply put, individuals who are committed to our vision & values and who will ensure that quality of care to our patients remains at the very heart of everything we do.

First & foremost, you will have a passion for patients with a drive for enhancing our health services across our city & beyond, & an appreciation of the diversity of our stakeholder landscape.

You will have the capability & enthusiasm to support our ambitious vision within the context of significant change, transformation & opportunity, both within the organisation, the region & the wider NHS.

An inspirational leader who lives our values & behaviours with a commitment to support our compassionate & inclusive culture, you will have the desire, skills, experience & attitude to positively challenge & support.

You will understand robust Corporate Governance, with in-depth experience of developing high level strategy.

Importantly, you will be an impressive collaborator; equipped to support further development of our vital external partnerships.

An effective understanding of health, education, business or commercial environments would also be advantageous.

Understand the importance of the Governor relationship with our Non-Executive Directors, in holding them to account individually, and collectively, to account for the performance of the Board of Directors.

Have the available time to fulfil the demands of the role.
