Trust Grade CESR Registrar in Emergency Medicine
Basic salary: 33,790 - 53,132 per annum + 1A Banding (50%) + 2,162 London Weighting per annum. In addition to the basic salary shown + 1 A banding and London weighting you will receive 13,000 retention bonus paid in two instalments of 6,500 every six months of completed work.
This job is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine and progress to the consultant role via the CESR route. We are looking to replace the senior doctors who have left the trust this year to go into training, and to complement the 7 doctors currently undergoing CESR training (including secondments in Acute medicine, ITU, anaesthetics and paediatrics) alongside an active CESR guidance programme.
Main duties of the job
The job will involve 3-6 months non lead role middle grade, followed by our in house leadership training program and become senior ED decision makers. Following a maximum of 9-12 months in EM the successful candidate will be expected to be a departmental leader (including at night) and would have the opportunity to go on their first secondment to the specialties.
Doctors leading the department and wishing to stay on either in full time positions or working towards CESR will be supported to do so. Candidates who are not leading the department within 18 months of joining will be supported in finding more suitable roles within the NHS.
