It serves as the heart attack center for the region and provides a comprehensive range of cardiac services, including electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, specialist cardiac imaging, grown-up congenital heart disease (GUCH) services, and advanced heart failure care.Our arrhythmia service is world-renowned, performing the highest volume of EP and device cases in the UK. We have international leadership in complex ablation, device therapy, inherited arrhythmias, and GUCH EP. The department is also academically leading, publishing in all major areas of EP and cardiac devices.Main duties of the jobPerforming supervised procedures in the catheter lab. Participating in device clinics and outpatient clinics. Providing day-to-day inpatient care as part of the cardiac electrophysiology. Job responsibilitiesCandidate RequirementsThis role is suitable for senior cardiology trainees or post-CCT fellows who already have some experience in EP and devices and wish to gain advanced subspecialty training.Funding and SupportBarts Heart Centre is collaborating with external organizations, including the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and National Cardiac Societies, to support joint posts. We invite candidates who have secured funding from external institutions (such as the ESC or their respective National Cardiac Societies) and are willing to match funding up to 80% of a full-time equivalent position. Funding details will be negotiated directly with the external sponsor to tailor the post to individual needs.Person Specification
