About the role

We are currently looking for a suitably skilled professional to join our trials team as the Trials Conducting Officer at the Benbecula range in the Hebrides. The successful candidate will be providing support and overseeing operational safety for the ongoing trials conducted at the range.

The site works across a multitude of trials covering short range infrared, mid-range & radio guided missiles, air to air, surface to surface projects and more. You will coordinate with the Trials Operational Manager and the Inflight Safety Officer to conduct trials in accordance of specific documentation and ensure the requirements and restrictions detailed in safety procedures are complied with.

You will be working on our base in the Hebrides and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop into an array of different areas across QinetiQ.

What do I need?

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have worked across an operational background.

We would also like you to have:

• A proven ability to work successfully within health & safety measures
• Technical background desirable but not essential
• Computer-literate
• Experience dealing with a range of different types of stakeholders

Please note that all applicants must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.

What will I be doing?

• Provide support and oversee operational safety for the ongoing trials conducted at the range
• Use computers that supply with safety traces as well as air and shipping products to use on the range. You\'ll also use radios and telecommunications
• Conducting the trials in accordance with specific operations documentation
• Stopping the trial if there are any concerns regarding safety
• Monitoring the post-trials clear up activity to ensure that the Range is not left in an unsafe state
