Paragon Logistics is seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Planner to join our team.

Overview

As a Transport Planner, you will effectively manage the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring optimal vehicle allocation and routing. Your role will be crucial in delivering exceptional service to our customers while maintaining high health and safety standards.

Annual Salary

: 30,000 - 35,000

Annual Performance Bonus:

1,200

Working Hours

: 09:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday - 1 hour break
Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate same-day delivery orders for the next day Ensure all orders have accurate information for vehicle planning Monitor real-time delivery progress and address any issues promptly Ensure team compliance with the latest rules and regulations Liaise with customers and drivers to provide updates and handle inquiries Forecast the need for additional resources and adjust plans accordingly Optimise route planning to save costs and improve efficiency Maintain accurate records and generate regular reports on delivery performance Collaborate with the operations team to improve processes and service quality Handle emergency planning and rerouting in case of unexpected disruptions Maximise vehicle usage by planning efficiently and bidding for jobs Support fleet management, including planning vehicles for maintenance.
Required Experience and Skills

Previous experience as a transport planner, preferably in same-day or express delivery

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Familiarity with transport management systems and routing software Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach

Good geographical knowledge (especially within London)
