We are seeking a dedicated Transport Planner to join our team, To plan, schedule, monitor and record all Ireland collections & deliveries alongside our UK Transport Planner. Communicate with customers, drivers and team members on daily transport operations for a fleet of 21 vehicles.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Log, schedule and update collections and deliveries using transport software.
Plan routes and loads to minimise fuel cost and time.
Communicate clear instructions and updates to drivers.
Confirm collection/delivery times with customers, manage delivery expectations and resolve issues/ changes in a timely manner for the best possible outcome.
Monitor and manage movements of vehicles and trailers using trackers and shipping portal.
Liaise with workshop on presentation of vehicles & trailers in line with maintenance schedules.
Monitor and report vehicle utilisation and cost per mile.
Generate reports on fuel usage and driver efficiency from software.
Maintain records and provide quick accurate information when required.
Retain a high level of service and build good relationships with both customers and drivers.
Ensure all planned transport activities comply with current regulations and legislation.
Skills
& Experience
Proficient in English with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.
Proficient in Drivers Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive, Tachograph laws and Vehicle Weight Limits.
Previous transport planning experience with good geographical knowledge of all Ireland.
Minimum 2+ years experience required in transport planning.
In-house training in our Transport Management Software given.
Pay
33,800 per year

8 statutory + 20 annual = Total 28 days per year
Shift and schedule
Monday to Friday 8.30am - 6.00pm
