Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join our logistics team based at Hutton Cranswick in East Yorkshire. We are looking for a Transport Forwarder to join us on a fixed term full-time basis for approximately 18 months.

The successful candidate will work alongside and help support the current Grain Forwarding Team. Managing the collection and delivery of bulk raw materials from farms and stores to our customers. This will be done on our own fleet and third-party hauliers.

The role involves working with all departments within Frontier to make sure we are managing contracts on time and giving the excellent service we have become known for.

Attention to detail, time management, good communication skills and strong organisational skills are essential for this role.

Ideal candidate

• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Flexible approach to work and managing changing priorities
• An effective team player taking a share of team responsibilities, being supportive of others
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a good eye for detail and professional phone manner
• Experience of meeting multiple deadlines in a very time sensitive environment.
• Experience of a fast-moving Transport environment is preferred however, if you are keen to learn and have the transferred skills, we would be happy to develop your transport skills
• Self-motivated and tenacious
• Must hold a UK driving licence

The role - Key responsibilities

• Arranging the collection of bulk materials and delivery within timescales requested by the customer
• Communication of all delivery confirmations to the customer
• Working closely with the company national fleet to optimise the logistical efficiencies of these internal assets
• Provide support cover when required within the existing Forwarding Team
• Communication of logistical issues to peers/ suppliers/customers on a daily basis
• Communication with haulage contractors on a daily basis
