Our client in Brackmills, Northampton is looking for an experienced Transport Administrator on an on-going basis.

Main duties of a Transport Administrator:
-Managing daily transportation operations, including scheduling deliveries and pickups, tracking shipments, and maintaining records.
-Collaborating with drivers to optimise routes and ensure on-time deliveries while minimising fuel costs.
-Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining vehicle inspection records.
-Conducting regular performance reviews of drivers and recommending training and improvements where needed.
-Co-ordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
-Assisting in planning and scheduling transportation activities, including route planning and load optimisation.
-Providing a high level of customer service and interacting with customers to address enquiries.
-Using transportation management software and analytics tools.
-Analysing transportation data to identify trends and enhance efficiency.
-Striving for continuous improvement and seeking ways to enhance the overall transportation.
-Communicating with drivers, dispatchers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of operations.
-Addressing delays and unforeseen issues promptly with tracking and monitoring tools and technologies.
-Ability to work alone without close supervision and using initiative to make independent decisions.
The ideal candidate:
-Proficient in computer applications
-Confident telephone manner
-Organisational skills and decision making
-Comfortable with lone working
-Experience with transport administration
