Job Description

The Training Programme Director in Dental Core Training NHSE NW (Mersey region) will support the Associate Dental Dean in the Strategic Development of the School of Dentistry.



The post holder will lead on the development of the School's Recruitment and Retention Strategy and contribute to supporting the School Operational Programme. The post holder will be a member of the Dental Core Training Executive Committee.



This is a 3 years secondment extendable to a maximum of three years, subject to mutual agreement



The post holder will be one of a team of 5 TPDs, their particular area of responsibility will be DCT within Cheshire and Merseyside OMFS units.



The post holder will be tasked with delivery of the objectives set out in the Dental Education Reform Programme and by COPDEND through the DCT Advisory Group.



Work in collaboration with Associate Dental Dean for Dental Core Training to develop and implement a Medical and Dental Workforce Strategy which supports the recruitment and retention of Dental Core Trainees



To provide expert advice on Speciality specific matters to the Scheme.

To support the Head of School/Post graduate Dental Dean and ADD to ensure appropriate systems for Assessment, Rotational Management, Trainee Supervision & Support and other functions within the School.
