FTE: 1.0 FTE (working 37 hours a week)

Salary: UH6 \xc2\xa331,396 to \xc2\xa333,966 with the potential to progress to \xc2\xa337,099 by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience.

Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield (Potential Flexible Location arrangements available)

The Dean of Students Office (DOS) SBU provides an incredibly varied and passionate working environment, where no day is the same. The Student Procedures Team has recently undergone a transformation at the beginning of 2023, with the introduction of a manager, and two newly appointed Investigation Officers. This brand-new post is an exciting addition to the team, with the aim to share knowledge and development opportunities across the institution.

Main duties and responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to take ownership of this new role, with the autonomy to create, develop and deliver training programmes on behalf of the Dean of Students Office, across the institution.

The successful applicant will facilitate development events in a professional and effective manner, using existing in-house or pre-written or externally resourced material. You will also evaluate these events and measure the impact of their performance which in turn will contribute towards the continuous improvement of the DOS development and learning provision.

Developing networks, both internally and externally, and working collaboratively with colleagues from Learning & Organisational Development will be a key aspect of this post with the aim of ensuring positive engagement and administration of records and ensuring consistency and efficiency of training.

Skills and experience required

The post holder will have proven experience of working in a Learning & Organisational Development role and can clearly demonstrate how they have successfully contributed to the design and delivery of training programmes and development initiatives, whilst seeing these projects through to completion. You will be able to clearly evidence how your direct involvement has previously had a positive impact, because of strong planning, facilitation and project management skills.

You will be a confident communicator, with the ability to engage others at all levels, and have experience of analysing your work, and creating concise and engaging reports to share findings with others.

Qualifications required

The post holder will be educated with a minimum of undergraduate degree level or can alternatively evidence equivalent substantial proven professional experience.

You will have a (or are working towards) a recognised professional qualification, or equivalent substantial proven experience.
