Trainee Service Engineer (Electrical Background - Gas Training Provided)

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated
electrically trained engineer
who is looking to transition into the world of
industrial and commercial gas engineering
. You'll be joining a well-established engineering company that specialises in servicing, testing, and installation of equipment within the paint finishing industry--think industrial ovens, paint spray booths, air handling units, and more.
While you may not yet have commercial gas experience, we're ready to train and support you to become a
fully qualified gas engineer
, offering hands-on exposure, formal training (including Gas Safe), and a structured path toward career progression.
What You'll Be Trained To Do:
Service, diagnose, and repair a wide range of
industrial process equipment
Commission
industrial ovens and process burners
Conduct
LEV (Local Exhaust Ventilation) testing
on extraction systems
Complete site inspections, risk assessments, and detailed reports
Liaise with customers on and off-site, providing top-tier service
Install ovens, spray booths, ducting, lighting, and more
Carry out airflow, lighting, noise, and oven data logging tests
Work in line with
legal regulations and health & safety standards
, including working at height
What We're Looking For:
Electrical or domestic gas experience (ideal, but not essential)
A real desire to learn and grow into a commercial gas role
A
full UK driving licence
Comfortable working with tools, solving problems, and dealing with customers
Able to work flexibly (early starts, late finishes, occasional travel and overnight stays)
