Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles.

Duties

Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards. Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping. Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and PeopleSoft for efficient financial management. Conduct regular audits of financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Provide mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional development within the finance team. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support budgeting processes. Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement based on findings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in financial accounting and management within a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as relevant legislation. Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or PeopleSoft is essential. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills. Previous experience in the financial services sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
