We have an excellent new role for an individual who is looking to start their career in the railway! The Train Planning & Diagramming team are searching for a Trian Planning Assistant to join them. In this entry level role, you will be supporting the wider team in delivering tasks focussing on the production of robust train and diagramming plans to deliver the ARL daily train service.
This role will provide an entry level individual with the opportunity to develop their career in the operational railway! Not an opportunity to be missed.
Responsibilities:
This individual will be responsible for producing the Engineering Weekly update to all required recipients and will also be responsible for Rail Replacement Bus Timetable input, ensuring that it accurately reflects the plan and is within pre-agreed timetables.
You will contribute to the production of public timetables for short term and long term planning as required, as well as production of accurate diagramming mark ups to assist the diagramming team with relevant timescales.
Continuous communication with relevant stakeholders will be another key part of this role.
You will also be responsible for weekly system uploads for the Diagramming team, ensuring that all information and data is accurate and inputted into the relevant software systems.
The Timetable Planning Assistant will also assist with ad-hoc diagramming and timing inputs as well as general administrative duties which includes minute taking during interviews.
You will contribute to the culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing improvements to planning and diagramming processes and systems.
Qualifications:
The ideal individual will be educated to a college/ A-Level level or will have equivalent experience.
Any experience of stakeholder management and building effective relationships with peers, internal and external stakeholders would be highly advantageous.
This individual will need to have had experience working towards and achieving deadlines and will need to have the ability to maintain concentration with strong attention to detail.
Any understanding of the London Overground network and services would be highly beneficial as well as knowledge of train planning systems and railway operating principles as well as a basic understanding of train crew diagramming rules and train planning rules, but this isn't essential.
You will need to have excellent IT literacy as well as the ability to manage your own time and prioritise tasks effectively.
The Train Planning Assistant will also need to have the ability to complete accurate note and action taking in meetings, any experience in this would be a plus.
