The RSP covers a diverse population and a variety of high-profile venues, including Wimbledon Tennis, AFC Wimbledon, Twickenham Rugby, Battersea Power Station, New Covent Garden and Hampton Court Flower Show.This opportunity will allow the successful candidates to forge a career in regulatory services within an innovative local authority partnership. Our 4-year paid apprenticeship programme offers bespoke training and work experience leading to qualification as a Trading Standards Officer.About the jobWe are a looking for dedicated individual who will study for the Level 6 Trading Standards Apprenticeship with the Credit Services Association. It will be a condition of any employment offer that you are accepted onto the study programme. A dedicated officer will provide in-house support for your learning and development.On days when you are not attending taught classes or studying, you will work supporting the Trading Standards Team, with a particular focus on illegal tobacco and vapes enforcement.Building on the taught knowledge of your course, you will develop practical skills while learning from and supporting experienced professionals. From carrying out inspections, investigating complaints, and advising businesses, to preparing evidence for use in legal proceedings, this apprenticeship will provide you will a wide range of experiences and the opportunity to work with other disciplines within the RSP such as food safety and standards, housing, noise, pollution, licensing, and health and safety.As you progress through the course and gain experience in the role, you will have the opportunity move up through the career grades and your salary will increase.About the CandidateThe successful candidate will be looking for a career where they can make a difference to peoplexe2x80x99s safety, rights and the local business environment.You must be committed to complete the 4-year study programme, demonstrating an ambition to develop your career, whilst sharing the same values as we do.You will have an inquiring mind, be highly motivated and organised, with excellent time management and communication skills.To qualify for the apprenticeship, you will need:

• Five GCSEs (or equivalent) including Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths
• A levels or a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (desirable)
• Relevant prior work experience in an area such as law enforcement or consumer protection (desirable)
