Westley Engineering is a well-established and leading manufacturing company based in Birmingham. It specialises in precision engineering and high-quality tooling solutions. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join its dynamic and experienced team.

As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and repairing precision tools used in the production process both Single Op and Progression. You will work from technical drawings and use a variety of machinery to produce high-quality components. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture, maintain, and repair tooling, jigs, and fixtures. Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Inspect and test completed tools to ensure quality standards. Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams to improve efficiency. Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues as they arise. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Toolmaker, ideally within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment with both Single Op and Progression tooling. Strong knowledge of machining processes, including milling, grinding, turning, and EDM. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of CNC programming (desirable but not essential).
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 16.00-17.00 per hour
