Directorate of Research
Research, Partnerships and Innovation
We are delighted to be recruiting a new team as part of an exciting Research England funded initiative: Thrive: A new approach to inclusive teamwork in research and impact leadership. Thrive will identify best practice in terms of inclusive and diverse teams-based working, pilot a new model of teamworking through a funding call in collaboration with the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and disseminate the findings to the wider higher education and research funder sector.
We are seeking to appoint two secondments who will provide a critical function within the Thrive project, with successful candidates deploying their expertise to work across professional service departments within the University sector and with AHRC and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), to understand the changes that may need to be made to established systems and processes to enable and support a new teams-led funding call.
The roles provide an exciting opportunity to work with teams responsible for different functions in the higher education and funder sector related to pre-call development, communication and engagement, through to funder decision making processes. The roles will require close working with AHRC/UKRI policy, processes and funding delivery systems as well as with research support teams in the university context.
You will form part of a dedicated project team managed by the Thrive lead (APVC for Research Environment and Postgraduate Research) and will sit within a large collaborative Professional Services team that focuses on developing research and partnerships activity across the University of Liverpool.
Ideally you will have experience in the higher education and research funding sector, with experience of working across different research support functions. You should be familiar with the UK research funding landscape, and in particular the drivers to increase inclusivity and diversity across higher education. You should have a degree or equivalent qualifications or relevant professional experience. You should have excellent IT skills and be prepared to work flexibly in different institutional contexts. The roles will require some travel within the UK to collaborate with project stakeholders.
These posts are available as a secondment opportunity with the agreement of your line manager. They are offered on a fixed term basis from 1 September 2023 until 1 September 2025.
