Job Overview:


We are seeking a proactive and multi-skilled Sewing Machinist to join our production team. This is a varied role where you will be expected to contribute your expertise wherever it's needed most. Your responsibilities will span the entire production flow, from preparing materials through cutting, operating sewing machines, and ensuring the final products meet our high-quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of our manufacturing process. Ideally you will have skills in cutting fabric and quality control, however, training will be given. You will be cutting fabric for baby carriers and maintaining the production stock, including managing relevant Google Sheets. The job also includes managing deliveries, creating labels and cutting schedules. This role requires an efficient, organised individual capable of managing several tasks to target standards and timelines.

Responsibilities:



Operating various industrial sewing machines to produce our high-quality goods. Accurately interpreting patterns and cutting fabrics using appropriate tools and techniques when required. Conducting quality checks on materials and finished products at different stages of production. Measuring items against specifications to ensure accuracy. Assisting in different production tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn. Maintaining a clean and organized work area. Adhering to all health and safety regulations. Collaborating effectively with all members of the production team.

This job requires lifting large rolls of fabric, boxes and other heavy objects.Training in moving & handling will be provided.

Person Specification



Essential



Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist in a manufacturing environment. Experience or a strong willingness to learn fabric cutting techniques. Experience or a keen eye for detail in quality control. Ability to read and interpret patterns and technical specifications. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity. A flexible and adaptable approach to work with a willingness to undertake various tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills. A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills. Attention to detail, a high level of accuracy and confidence in figures Target-driven, understanding of the importance of working to deadlines Able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment A flexible attitude and ability to multitask Able to demonstrate initiative with a proactive approach to solving problems Excellent timekeeping and attendance record

Desirable



Knowledge and understanding of health and safety risks and requirements in a manufacturing environment Experience in cutting fabric according to specifications and using cutting machinery Experience in a production role Confident use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite Competent use of databases
