General Dynamics Mission Systems in St Leonards-on-Sea currently provide a wide range of Avionic Mission Computing Systems for a wide range Military Fast Jets, Helicopters and UAV\'s. Recent success has resulted in General Dynamics developing the next generation of Advanced High Performance, Safety Critical Mission Computer Systems to meet the needs of latest platforms in development by several aircraft manufacturers. These Mission Computing Systems provide the functionality that integrates aircraft systems, sensor systems and weapon systems with the information and control systems required by the aircrew to meet the demanding operational needs of these aircraft.
This position plays an important role in our dynamic and innovative Test team, working on avionics systems along with land based armoured vehicle communication systems. You will be expected to test and fault find as required, highly technical electronic circuits and units. Your responsibility will be to ensure our products function correctly and meet all our quality requirements, before delivery to our customers. You will also be expected to participate in technical investigations, requiring a comprehensive knowledge of electronic hardware.
As a test engineer, you will be expected to play a major role in ensuring that the performance and quality of our products, meet our very exacting requirements. You will be running internally developed test equipment, to test the functionality of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) along with assembled units. If the product fails test, you will then be expected to diagnose the failure down to component level.
You will become involved in technical investigations which will require the ability to produce precise reports. You will need to be a good team player, but also, be able to show initiative if working individually.
