Temporary Harvest Staff - Lab Technician

Salary - Minimum wage - dependent on age

Working hours - Harvest = 29th July - October (middle - end) - first weeks 8-5, harvest period 7-7

J.R.Rix & Sons began as ship owners in the 1870's however, shipping is only a small part of what we do today. With our diverse activities ranging from stevedoring, warehousing, and car retailing through to fuel distribution, manufacturing, grain drying and property development we have a range of skills and assets

Rix Grain are based on the port of Montrose making it ideally placed to manage the discharging and transportation of grain produce throughout the port of Montrose and dock areas and are delighted to be recruiting for temporary harvest staff to carry out all Grain laboratory and weighbridge operations for our facility which is dedicated to the malting Barley industry. The successful individual will also co-ordinate and deliver a high standard of production, quality/quantity and excellent customer service across Grain storage and handling whilst creating and maintaining a great place to work culture

Duties to include but not limited to:

v Operation of weighbridge

v Customer facing - Interaction with lorry drivers

v Sampling seed lorries

v Basic analysis of seed Intake samples

v Basic analysis of inline production samples

v Assisting with yard management

v General administration and record keeping

v General cleaning and maintenance of operational area

The ideal candidate:

No previous experience is required. Full training will be given.

Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour
