Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and experienced caretaker/site manager to take on a temporary role to cover a long term sickness. It is a vibrant and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Solihull, Birmingham. Key Responsibilities:

As a Temporary School Caretaker, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Security and Maintenance:

Ensuring the security of the school premises, including locking and unlocking buildings as required.

Conducting routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues.

Performing minor repairs and liaising with contractors for major repairs.

Managing and maintaining school equipment and facilities.

Cleaning and Hygiene:

Overseeing cleanliness and hygiene standards within the school.

Cleaning designated areas, including classrooms, restrooms, and common areas.

Coordinating waste disposal and recycling efforts.

Health and Safety:

Monitoring and adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responding promptly to any health and safety concerns or emergencies.

Maintaining records of safety checks and activities.

Groundskeeping:

Tending to the school grounds, including gardening and basic landscaping.

Managing outdoor play areas and ensuring they are safe and well-maintained.

Assistance and Collaboration:

Assisting with the setup of school events and activities.

Collaborating with school staff to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for students and staff.

Reporting any incidents, issues, or concerns to the school leadership team.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role is preferred.

Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

A commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment for our school community.

Additional training is available free of charge - provided by The National College training platform.

Hours: Flexible block shifts/ Split shifts

Pay: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
