Salary: Band 7, \xc2\xa327,915 to \xc2\xa330,375 (Increasing to \xc2\xa328,146 \xe2\x80\x93 \xc2\xa330,627 from September 2023, following a transitional pay award period)

The Role

Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! This could be the perfect time for you to join us as a Telematics Analyst in our Fleet Team.

With a fleet of 740 vehicles and an in-house workshop facility supporting operation of vehicles in an intensive emergency service environment, this is your opportunity to join us and play a critical role in our Fleet Team.

You will research driving patterns and identify trends to inform strategic decisions regarding the force\xe2\x80\x99s fleet. You will be required to present research in a variety of formats giving clear, justified recommendations. There may also be occasions when you will be required to present your research in a court setting in relation to driving incidents.

You will use your initiative to solve problems and identify solutions to embed new system across the Force area, so each level of the organisation has the information they require to utilise the fleet safely and effectively to support our organisational priorities.

You will network internally and externally engaging with key stakeholders to get the maximum benefit from the telematics system.

If you are a self-starter with an enthusiasm for data accuracy and identification of patterns and trends then this is time to join us as the force adopts the use of fleet telematics and moves towards a low emission fleet in the coming years.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

\xc2\xb7 Develop scheduled and ad hoc reports to enable stakeholders including senior management teams to monitor fleet performance and driver behaviour in order to maximise asset utilisation, facilitate the investigation of incidents and affect a safer driving culture.

\xc2\xb7 Provide an analytical assessment and undertake research to identify context, trends and patterns in order to inform management information and enable strategic decisions on fleet assets in support of operational demand.

\xc2\xb7 Discuss and present findings, both in written form, at meetings and potentially in a court setting, providing clear and objective recommendations to inform decision making.

\xc2\xb7 Provide advice, guidance and support to stakeholders in order to identity solutions in a timely manner and support organisational performance.

Essential:
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of telematics systems and proven ability to provide quality analysis.
  • Ability to use analytical software to design and build user friendly, informative analytical products to inform decision making and performance discussions at varying levels across the force.
  • Excellent data lead problem solving skills with the ability to identify areas of risk and improvement.
  • Committed to team development and identification of on-going training needs.
  • Able to present information effectively and with impact across the organisation. Strong relationship management skills.
Desirable:
  • Understanding of the police/public sector working environment. Awareness of officer driving authorities and regulations.
  • Awareness of legislative and government issues affecting the police service
  • Ability to design and deliver training plans to train users on brand new software.
